Copyright is the legal rights given to an individual or group to publish a form of material. Then there is fair use, which is the legal use of copyrighted items without having to ask for permission from the creators. As a teacher these are two terms that come into play when assigning students to an assignment. In my own experience, when giving a writing assignment or presentations, I describe plagiarism and copyrights to my students. I let them know that I want to see their own work and ideas. They will lose points if it is not to my expectations. I show them examples of what copyright looks like based off websites, pictures and so on. I have even done a Kahoot, as a quiz, to make sure my students understand what to look for as far as copyrighting and what they are allowed to take from other peoples ideas and work. They know that the basis of the projects need to be their ideas and if they were to use anything from anyone else they would have to get permission unless it is f

Blog Journal #2

With school being a majority online throughout my entire education, I have had a lot of experience using Word. Outside of school I am required to use word for my job. I remember using Word in high school, especially for english class to write papers. At FSU, I type up all of my papers using word to submit for grading as a pdf. As a new teacher this year, I have found GoogleDocs to be very convenient. I find it more convenient and easy to use as everything is in one and place and is accessible from any computer that I log onto.            A ISTE Standard that is most important to me would be 2.5 Designer. I found this standard to be the most important because being in a classroom, it is full of different children of different abilities and backgrounds. Technology is used as a tool for learning that meets different needs of students. Technology can make learning even more fun and gives educators the ability to get creative and make things their own, by putting their own twist

My name is Taylor English. I am a senior at FSU this year, as an online student. My major is Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a concentration in Sociology. I am currently a 5th grade teacher in my hometown, where I hope to continue on as a school social worker after graduation.      I have been an online student for the past 4 years. I find my education to be much more flexible and understandable when it is online. I am able to teach myself and work at my own pace, from where ever I please. I define myself as a tech-savvy person and I feel I have the ability to succeed in online courses while working full-time.      As an online student I heavily use the resources provided by the school and my professors whenever I need extra help. I also find it convenient to use the internet whenever I have a quick question to be answered. One platform I use the most when discovering new ideas for the classroom is Pinterest, I find inspiration, plan ideas, and day to day educational post
