After attending college virtually for the past three years I personally have benefited the most from being a distant learning student. I have experienced college in person as well and I found that I work best when I teach myself the material and work on my own pace. I am also able to work a full-time job while attending online school and maintain good grades. I feel as if I push myself harder when I am an online student and do my best work then. The only downside to being an online student is when it comes to having questions sometimes it’s a little difficult to find a classmate or a teacher who has the answer quickly. The biggest thing a teacher can do is provide discussion videos that explain the chapter or module in which we are discussing that week and provide feedback on written assignments and hold question and answer forms during the semester. As a teacher I would implement a time each week to talk with my students and discuss any questions that they may have each week wher

I enjoyed creating a class website for my future students and families to use! It was so fun to create a place that reflects my class themes, resources and important dates. I am so glad we learned how to do this and the fact that the webpage is free! I will definitely be using this to send messages to families for them to keep track of our class calendar and have a place for my students to visit to keep track of homework and easily find links to our classes' resources! https://msenglishs5thgradeclass.weebly.com        Diigo is a fun resource that I personally loved using as a teacher. I would love to implement this with older students for them to use a posting center for class assignments, group projects and discussions. I would also love to implement this into my school for all the teachers to share ideas and plans for their classes. This would also be a great place to safely share class photos and activities happening within the school for our staff and even families if e

After viewing school webpages to find teachers information, class planners and links, I found that teachers use other options when given the choice. I viewed the Sail High School website and discovered their teacher page directory, where I clicked and searched around for information provided both publicly and privately for their students and their families. While searching the website, I discovered most teachers have no updated their teacher profile or their link sent me to another website like Edmodo. Some teachers provided personal information, updated calendars, assignments, and links to resources such as the class textbook. Some pages with links to various websites were locked due to me not having class access, which is a great way to keep information private and allows students to use databases for school.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/47124      I use technology in my classroom each and everyday. From the moment the students walk in the room in the morning I have an inte

Diigo Experience My initial experience using Diigo has been a positive one. I enjoy using Diigo because of its clear and fluid set up. I can keep all of my bookmarks, photos, and documents in one place. I would definitely use Diigo while conducting a research project to keep track of all of my websites or articles, in one place that takes me directly to them, and I can name them all myself. Although, I am old fashioned when it comes to organization and I prefer all of my items to be kept in one place where I can access without internet, such as my desktop. I can easily add all of my information as I can on Diigo into one folder and it will automatically save to my hard drive. I am not a huge fan of using a website to hold all of my documents; whereas, I rather prefer to make folders on my desktop.  I have always enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. I can even recall a time when I was younger where I wanted to be a blogger and made my own little pages to share with friends,

ELA TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS          One standard 5th grade teachers use for ELA is LAFS.5.RL.3.7. which is the question of "how do visuals and multimedia elements contribute to a text?". Authors, teachers, lessons, and other creators use visuals and multimedia to integrate a different understanding of the tone, meaning, or beauty of a text. For instance, eBooks are a huge resource available to help children see pictures of the text they are reading about. By being able to have a deeper understanding by using visualizations, comprehension becomes more evident. I feel extremely prepared to implement this standard into my classroom, as I already use and provide eBooks to my students. There are great resources like Epic Books, which is an online eBook website for schools. Students get excited to read and listen to stories when they can see what we are discussing for themselves.  CPALMS RESOURCES      CPALMS provides wonderful resources for teachers to use. As a 5th grade teacher, w

Copyright is the legal rights given to an individual or group to publish a form of material. Then there is fair use, which is the legal use of copyrighted items without having to ask for permission from the creators. As a teacher these are two terms that come into play when assigning students to an assignment. In my own experience, when giving a writing assignment or presentations, I describe plagiarism and copyrights to my students. I let them know that I want to see their own work and ideas. They will lose points if it is not to my expectations. I show them examples of what copyright looks like based off websites, pictures and so on. I have even done a Kahoot, as a quiz, to make sure my students understand what to look for as far as copyrighting and what they are allowed to take from other peoples ideas and work. They know that the basis of the projects need to be their ideas and if they were to use anything from anyone else they would have to get permission unless it is f

With school being a majority online throughout my entire education, I have had a lot of experience using Word. Outside of school I am required to use word for my job. I remember using Word in high school, especially for english class to write papers. At FSU, I type up all of my papers using word to submit for grading as a pdf. As a new teacher this year, I have found GoogleDocs to be very convenient. I find it more convenient and easy to use as everything is in one and place and is accessible from any computer that I log onto.            A ISTE Standard that is most important to me would be 2.5 Designer. I found this standard to be the most important because being in a classroom, it is full of different children of different abilities and backgrounds. Technology is used as a tool for learning that meets different needs of students. Technology can make learning even more fun and gives educators the ability to get creative and make things their own, by putting their own twist
